One Amplifier for Two Business Areas

The TEXONIC A-2240H combines background music playback, microphone mixing and commercial speaker power in one unit.

It is designed for businesses that want straightforward audio operation without installing a separate amplifier for each area. Use Zone 1, Zone 2 or both together depending on which areas need music or announcements.

Its 240W output supports compatible 100V distributed speakers. This allows businesses to connect multiple commercial ceiling, wall-mount, pendant or paging speakers using suitable transformer tap settings.

Output Selection: Use either the commercial 100V two-zone speaker connection or the compatible 4–16Ω low-impedance connection. Do not operate both speaker output configurations simultaneously.

How the Two Speaker Zones Work

The A-2240H uses two front-panel switches to select which connected 100V speaker areas receive sound.

Zone 1 — Main Area Example: Restaurant dining room, showroom, retail floor or main office.
Zone 2 — Secondary Area Example: Reception, secondary seating, hallway, staff area or stockroom.

Three Operating Options

Zone 1 Only Send the shared music and paging programme to Zone 1.
Zone 2 Only Send the shared music and paging programme to Zone 2.
Both Zones Enable both areas so they receive the same programme.
Shared Amplifier Power Both speaker zones operate within the amplifier's combined 240W capacity.
Important: The two zones do not play different music sources independently. They also do not have separate built-in zone volume controls.
Need Local Volume Control? Compatible commercial speaker volume controls may be considered when an installation requires different listening levels in individual rooms. The complete speaker load and control ratings must be checked.

100V Speaker Compatibility & Loading

On a 100V commercial audio system, the connected speaker load is calculated by adding the selected transformer wattage taps of all connected speakers.

The A-2240H delivers 240W of rated amplifier output shared across its connected speaker system.

Recommended Planning Approach: Allow approximately 20% amplifier power headroom when designing the distributed speaker system. This gives a conservative planning target of about 192W total speaker load. This is a design recommendation, not a separate manufacturer power rating.

Can I Connect Regular 8Ω Speakers?

Yes. The amplifier also provides a separate 4–16Ω output for suitable low-impedance speaker systems. The combined speaker impedance must remain within the supported range.

Can I Connect Another Amplifier?

Yes. The line output can connect compatible external audio equipment, including an additional power amplifier. The manual also identifies an active subwoofer as a possible line-output connection.

Speaker Connection Notice: Do not use the 100V zone speaker outputs and the low-impedance speaker output at the same time. Turn off the amplifier before connecting speakers or changing wiring.
System Planning: Final speaker quantity, transformer tap settings and placement depend on room layout, ceiling height, ambient noise and the required listening level.
