Wall & Surface-Mount Speakers

Which Wall & Surface-Mount Speaker Should I Choose?

Compare TEXONIC wall speakers by size, output, amplifier compatibility and installation use. All three models support 70V, 100V and 8Ω systems, but each is suited to a different type of project.

Model Best For System Max 70V/100V Tap 8Ω Rating Frequency Range
CS75 View product → Compact wall-mounted music + paging 70V / 100V / 8Ω 30W 80W 60Hz–20kHz
CST86 View product → Fuller music + indoor/outdoor use 70V / 100V / 8Ω 60W 60W rated
120W max
50Hz–20kHz
CS76B View product → Higher-output commercial music + paging 70V / 100V / 8Ω 40W 100W 50Hz–20kHz
Quick Tip: Choose CS75 when you want a compact speaker with wide 120° coverage for everyday commercial music and paging. Choose CST86 when fuller music, a 6.5″ woofer, black or white finish and indoor/outdoor flexibility are important. Choose CS76B when you need stronger commercial output, a higher 8Ω power rating and wide coverage from a larger wall-mounted speaker.

Choosing Wall Speaker Power and Amplifier Type

Wall speakers can be used in distributed 70V/100V systems or with compatible low-impedance amplifiers. The best choice depends on the number of speakers, cable runs and amplifier being used.

70V / 100V Distributed Audio

Best for multiple speakers and larger commercial spaces. Several wall speakers can share one commercial amplifier line, making 70V/100V systems practical for restaurants, retail stores, offices, gyms, hotels and other distributed audio installations.

Set each speaker to the required transformer wattage and add the selected wattage of every connected speaker to calculate the total amplifier load.

8Ω Low-Impedance Audio

Useful for one or a small number of compatible speakers. CS75, CST86 and CS76B all provide an 8Ω operating option for use with a compatible low-impedance amplifier.

When multiple 8Ω speakers are connected, calculate the resulting impedance before wiring to make sure the amplifier can safely support the connected load.

Example — 70V/100V System:

If four wall speakers are each set to 15W, the total connected speaker load is: 4 × 15W = 60W

Select an amplifier with enough available output above the calculated speaker load and leave suitable operating headroom.

Mounting & Environment

Wall speakers can be aimed toward the main listening area using their adjustable mounting brackets. CS75 is suitable for indoor and protected covered-outdoor locations when protected from direct rain and severe weather. CST86 is designed for indoor/outdoor installations when installed correctly and its cable entries are protected from moisture. CS76B is designed for wall-mounted and open-ceiling commercial installations. Do not assume an outdoor weather rating unless one is specifically published for the product.

Important: Select the correct 70V, 100V or 8Ω setting before powering the amplifier. Do not connect a speaker set to 8Ω to a 70V or 100V amplifier output. For distributed systems, calculate the combined wattage of all speaker taps and keep the total within the amplifier's available output capacity.
