The NORTHLINE NL6T is a compact 12W in ceiling speaker designed for distributed background music and voice announcements. It gives installers a choice of 70V, 100V or 8Ω operation, making it adaptable to different commercial audio systems.

Its 2 inch full range driver, white magnetic grille and black steel backcan suit ceiling installations where a discreet appearance and convenient system integration matter. Use it in reception areas, shops, cafés, offices, clinics and other shared spaces.

Select the correct transformer tap for a 70V/100V amplifier, or use 8Ω bypass with a compatible low-impedance amplifier. The removable Euroblock connection and ceiling clamps help simplify installation.

The NL6T is designed for spaces where music should be comfortably heard and routine announcements should remain intelligible without bulky wall-mounted equipment. Its white circular grille provides a tidy ceiling finish, while the steel backcan keeps the speaker assembly enclosed.

For larger installations, 70V or 100V operation allows several NL6T speakers to run from a compatible distributed audio amplifier. Each speaker can be set to an appropriate transformer wattage tap. For a conventional compatible amplifier, the NL6T also offers 8Ω bypass.

Amplifier Compatibility: Match the speaker selector to the amplifier's actual output mode. A 70V or 100V line must never be connected with the NL6T set to 8Ω bypass.

Choose the Right Speaker Operating Mode

The NL6T offers three modes so the same speaker model can be used with different types of properly matched sound systems. Select the appropriate setting before turning the amplifier on.

70V Commercial Audio Available taps: 1.5W, 3W, 6W and 12W. Ideal for multi-speaker distributed audio on a compatible 70V line.
100V Commercial Audio Available taps: 3W, 6W and 12W. Add the wattage taps of all connected 100V speakers.
8Ω Bypass Use with a compatible low impedance amplifier. Account for the combined impedance when connecting multiple speakers.
Connection & Mounting Euroblock terminal, ceiling clamps and a removable magnetic grille support practical installation.
Important: Do not connect the 8Ω bypass setting to a 70V or 100V amplifier output. Turn amplifier power off before wiring or changing the selector.

Ceiling Preparation Checklist

  • Confirm a 162mm (6.38-inch) ceiling cutout.
  • Allow at least 95mm (3.7 inches) of mounting depth and check obstructions above the ceiling.
  • Confirm ceiling material thickness does not exceed 39mm (1.5 inches).
  • Connect the speaker cable, select the correct mode, then secure the speaker with its ceiling clamps and attach the grille.
  • Turn on the system and test initially at low volume.

70V / 100V Speaker Load Planning

In a distributed 70V or 100V installation, all speaker wattage taps add together. Keep the total connected speaker load below the amplifier's rated speaker-output capacity, with sensible headroom.

Example: Eight NL6T speakers, each set to the 6W tap, create a total 48W speaker load. A compatible 60W amplifier leaves 12W of rated capacity unused.

How Should Multiple NL6T Speakers Be Wired?

For 70V or 100V installations, connect the speakers electrically in parallel and maintain consistent positive/negative polarity throughout the run. Refer to the manual for the illustrated connection method.

Can I Use More Than One NL6T in 8Ω Mode?

Yes, when the total connected impedance and wiring arrangement are compatible with the amplifier. Unlike distributed 70V/100V systems, do not choose an 8Ω speaker count based only on wattage-tap calculations.

Installation Reminder: Match the speaker operating mode to the amplifier output, confirm polarity and wiring, and follow applicable electrical and building-code requirements.
