502T View product → Metal back + 8Ω flexibility 70V / 100V / 8Ω 20W 100Hz–20kHz 180mm
Quick Tip: Choose AF106T when a clean trimless appearance is the priority. Choose BF106 when you want a compact enclosed metal-back speaker. Choose AF206T for everyday two-way music and paging. Choose CM60T when more output is required from a 6″ speaker. Choose CM80T when fuller music reproduction and stronger low-frequency performance are important. Choose 502T when you need an enclosed ceiling speaker with the additional flexibility of 8Ω operation.

Choosing Between 70V/100V and 8Ω Ceiling Speakers

Commercial ceiling speakers can use different amplifier and wiring systems. Choosing the correct system before installation makes it easier to plan speaker quantity, amplifier power and wiring.

70V / 100V Distributed Audio

Best for multiple ceiling speakers and larger commercial spaces. 70V and 100V systems allow several speakers to share one amplifier line, making them practical for offices, restaurants, retail stores, schools and other distributed audio installations.

Each ceiling speaker is set to a transformer wattage tap. Add the selected wattage of every connected speaker to calculate the total load on the amplifier.

8Ω Low-Impedance Audio

Best for one or a small number of compatible speakers. An 8Ω ceiling speaker connects to a compatible low-impedance amplifier without using a 70V or 100V transformer tap.

When connecting more than one 8Ω speaker, the total impedance must be calculated correctly so the connected load remains within the amplifier's supported range.

Example — 70V/100V System:

If six ceiling speakers are each set to 10W, the total connected speaker load is: 6 × 10W = 60W

Select a commercial amplifier with enough output above the calculated speaker load. Leaving suitable amplifier headroom helps provide reliable everyday operation.
Important: Confirm the amplifier output type and speaker setting before installation. Do not connect an 8Ω speaker setting to a 70V or 100V amplifier output. For 70V/100V systems, calculate the combined wattage of all speaker taps before selecting the amplifier.
